Yesterday I needed a day, or at least a piece of one, all to myself. It was bright and sunny and the sky was perfectly blue, and it was 40 degrees… something I’ve learned to cherish. I went out with my camera and just walked around for over an hour, taking pictures and really looking at everything around me. Somehow, seeing with a photographer’s eye, everything was filled with brightness and beauty. I looked at things from every possible angle, noticing things, like the roof on top of the building across the street, that I had never noticed before.

I just felt so full, so good, so alive. Sometimes you just need time to yourself, and silence, to be able to appreciate everything around you. We live in a wonderful world.
